Works created during August 2020 recycling either marked or faulty prints produced in the run up to the solo show Among Other Things, several of which have been acquired by Art Gazette. These artworks were created as UK COVID restrictions were relaxed and summer was in full swing but I wasn't feeling safe or frivolous as the time of year normally instills in me. I wanted to be in the studio so much over Lockdown but I didn't know if that was appropriate or selfish so I'd make quick trips to gather materials and dash back home. These works were the first where I allowed myself some time to be in the studio- where it felt kind of ok to be there for more than a few mad paranoid minutes. I wasn't relaxed but I was grateful- not knowing how long the luxury of the solitude and access to creative space would last. I miss my studio around the corner from me. I miss having a studio full stop. These works are portals to that time, to the summer feeling that wasn't quite right, to the dusty concrete floor and squirrel-infested roof at Bow Arts, London.
