Self Portrait In Parts
2015-16
A series of images and moving image works that can be viewed in isolation of each other or collectively, providing a somewhat surreal portrait of the artist. Focusing on a single area of the artist’s body, the series abstracts the human form to an absurd and provocative degree, drawing the viewer into a sensual experience via a feminized gaze. The video, Self Portrait In Parts, II is shown as a sculptural installation on a flat-screen monitor orientated in portrait format, duration: 4mins 30secs on a continuous loop.
Install documentation: group exhibition, Our Body Is A Bridge, 2016 at Skeleton House, London. Curated by artists Alicia Radage and Dani Ploeger.
