What are Gong and sound baths?

Gong and Sound baths are a relaxation technique and meditative experience in which participants 'bathe' in the sound waves produced by the human voice as well as instruments such as chimes, gongs, drums and singing bowls. The instruments used have unique sound signatures that elicit a variety of responses in the mind and body. In this session, Cherelle will be playing her Crystal singing bowls to induce a deeply relaxed state. You will be asked to lie down with your eyes closed, although sitting up also works if that's more comfortable and encouraged to breathe deeply whilst a soundscape is played live. All you need to do is listen, relax and receive.

What do you need to enjoy a Gong or sound bath?

  • Leave 1-2 hours between eating (eating soon before can cause distraction during the session)

  • Jumpers/ layered clothing- it’s important you don’t get cold or too hot as this is likely to bring you out of the relaxed state.

  • Please do bring additional blankets or cushions if you know you'd benefit from the additional warmth/support.

  • A bottle of water.

  • Some people like to wear an eye mask or something to cover their eyes but it's not essential.

NB: This session is open to all. Please note this event is not suited for those in their first trimester of pregnancy, anyone with a pacemaker or triggered by sounds.
